Most social networks and chat platforms strip out traditional HTML <u> tags and CSS formatting. Our generator bypasses this limitation by using Unicode combining diacritical marks. Because the underline line is encoded into the character sequence itself, your copied text stays underlined on Instagram, TikTok, Twitter/X, Discord, WhatsApp, and gaming lobbies.
To underline text without HTML or CSS, the generator uses code points from the Unicode Combining Diacritical Marks block (range U+0300 to U+036F):
U+0332): A zero-width character that anchors directly beneath the baseline of the preceding letter (e.g., A + U+0332 = A̲).U+0333): Anchors two parallel horizontal strokes beneath the letter (e.g., A + U+0333 = A̳), creating formal double underline emphasis.U+0305): Draws a continuous bar over the top of the characters (A̅), frequently paired with underlines for decorative borders.Because these are international Unicode characters rather than styling rules, your phone, tablet, and computer treat them as plain text.
